Director of Operations and founder of the company is David Jones MBIPDT, a former police officer and head of the specialist search dog unit within a large Metropolitan Police Force.

On his early retirement from the police service, David decided to put his skills to use
in the private sector and using the years of dedicated research and training, he developed Dog Detectives Ltd in 1999.

Whilst he was a police officer David organised and conducted a vast number of defensive and offensive searches for explosives at Royal, Political, Sporting and other events, this during the active campaign of the PIRA, and several other terrorist groups including animal activists.

He qualified as an Accredited Home Office (now ACPO) Instructor and Assessor of Specialist Search Dogs in Northern Ireland.

He travelled extensively in the UK and now worldwide training and assessing search dogs and latterly conducting varying training and assessment courses for a varied clientele.

Instructors, operational personnel and consultants within the DogDetectives Ltd framework are former police officers who specialise in various canine disciplines from Cadaver and Urban Disaster rescue to Drugs and Police patrol dogs.

Others are former fire officers whose forte is Fire Investigation dogs, as well as recognised sector leaders in Mountain Rescue, Wilderness search and Illegal shipment control.

DogDetectives Ltd are fortunate to having the backing of The British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT) and are a recognised regional training establishment for Search Dogs and Security Dogs.
